A luxurious five-star hotel is gearing up for its grand reopening after undergoing a significant renovation that infuses a contemporary style while playfully celebrating its rich Highland Perthshire heritage. This revitalized establishment, known as the Dunalastair Hotel Suites, will officially welcome guests in March as part of The Rannoch Collection, following its recent acquisition by Loch Rannoch Estate after the previous owners faced administration issues.
Previously managed by Rogue City Hotel Group, which is associated with Henley Homes, the hotel was put on the market in September 2024 with an asking price of £3.25 million. However, just two months later, it filed for administration, as indicated by documents filed with Companies House. Unfortunately, Rogue City Hotel Group was dissolved in early July 2025, marking the end of its management era.
Nestled in the picturesque village square of Kinloch Rannoch, this charming hotel boasts 32 well-appointed suites. Exciting new features include a delightful bar and lounge named The Tipsy Stag, alongside The MacNab Restaurant, which aims to showcase the finest game and local Scottish produce.
Guests at the Dunalastair Hotel Suites will also benefit from access to the spa and fitness amenities available at the affiliated Loch Rannoch Hotel, Estate & Spa. In addition, Loch Rannoch is set to debut an expansion of its indoor pool and spa facilities later this year, including an outdoor woodland spa with a soft-play area for families.
Nick Pattie, the director of Loch Rannoch Estate, expressed enthusiasm about the hotel's reopening, stating, "Dunalastair Hotel Suites has long been a vital part of Kinloch Rannoch. Our priority has been to restore its unique character while confidently integrating it into the broader estate. This reopening signifies our dedication to making thoughtful investments that enhance the destination for both visitors and the local community, promoting a high-quality tourism experience throughout the year."
For those interested in booking a stay, nightly rates at the Dunalastair Hotel Suites begin at £225 for two guests in a superior double room, including breakfast. More information can be found on the hotel’s official website.
